Over 50 percent of the aluminum cans produced are recycled

Every minute of everyday, an average of 113,204 aluminum cans are recycled

That means 50% of cans are thrown out. That 50% makes up 3% of the waste sent to our landfills. What makes up the other 97% you ask:

52% - Paper/Cardboard
14% - Glass
11% - Wood
16% - Plastics
4% - Steel

There are two ways to approach reducing our waste - greater push for recycling and reducing packaging.
